For more flexibility and convenience, there are two options available for qualified investors to participate in the program:
Full Investment Option
You deposit the full amount of EUR 511,292 from outside of Bulgaria into your personal bank account in Bulgaria. The capital is used to purchase Government Bonds under your name for
5 years.
At the end of the 5th year, the amount of EUR 511,292 is refunded to you without accrued interest. The investment is fully guaranteed and secured by the Bulgarian government.
For the full investment option, you should demonstrate personal or family combined net assets of at least EUR 511,292. Most common assets acceptable for participating in this program are cash, property, business and investment certificates including bonds and stocks.
Financed Investment Option
You deposit a reduced amount of EUR 180,000.* The reduced amount is used to obtain a loan from a chartered Bulgarian bank for the remaining funds, adding up to EUR 511,292.
The loan is for five years, and the majority of the EUR 180,000 goes to cover the interest rate, bank fees, and transactions; therefore, the amount of EUR 180,000 is not refunded to you at the end of the 5th year.
* This amount may change marginally if prime lending rates in the national banking system rise or fall in response to changes in the Bulgarian National Bank key interest rate.
For the financed investment option, you should demonstrate personal or family combined net assets worldwide of more than EUR 1 million. Most common assets acceptable for participating in this program are cash, property, business and investment certificates, including bonds and stocks.
Note on Application Fees
The application fees associated with the program may vary between EUR 25,000 and EUR 30,000, depending on the applicant's country of origin and number of dependants. These non-refundable, up-front fees include government application fees, legal and translation fees, service fees related to the background verification, and validation of the source of funds.
